A Great Place to Call Home

The White Lake Area is truly a unique and beautiful place, rich with history and bursting with small-town charm. Whether you prefer the peace and quiet of your suite or our gardens or want to get out for a relaxing day at the beach, to play a quiet round of golf or to shop away the afternoon in the quaint downtowns of Montague and Whitehall – it’s all right here.

Arts & Entertainment

From educational and historical sites, to live theater, music festivals, and art galleries, the White Lake Area offers a wealth of artistic and cultural opportunities. Our residents are particularly fond of local festivals with unique vendors, artists and foods.

Check out a play at the Historic Playhouse at White Lake, take in some history at the White River Light Station & Museum, or sit back and enjoy live entertainment at the annual West Michigan Wine & Jazz Festival.

Restaurants, Delis & Coffee

You’ll be sure to find local favorites, unique tasty dishes, and delicious sweets and treats right here in the White Lake Area. From specialty ice cream shops to juicy steaks, mouth-watering pizza, and waterfront dining – we’ve got a little bit of something for everyone! The area is also home to a growing number of  breweries and pubs featuring unique local craft beer, wines, and spirits.

Start your morning at The Book Nook and Java Shop with a warm latte and a good book. And end your day at the Old Channel Inn, a White Lake tradition since 1930, falling in love with their lake perch dinner (made with the same recipe since 1958!)

Of course, you’ll find golf and cross-country skiing here in White Lake, but we’re also home to Clear Springs Nature Preserve! This 100-acre nature preserve is perfect for hiking, dog walking, trail jogging, canoeing in small ponds and picnicking with family or friends. Buttermilk Creek Park is especially fun in the winter as it hosts an ice-skating rink with free skates! Our zoo is always a fun destination for our residents as are the many parks and gardens. You’ll never be short on things do outside our campus.
