The Neighborhoods of White Lake is a resident-centered community where high-quality professional care combines with warmth and comfort to make residents feel strong, safe, and at home. Our colleagues take great pride in providing a home-like atmosphere where each resident is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Residents are encouraged to participate in their care and surroundings at all levels of independence and functioning.

Our skilled nursing and rehabilitative community is divided into distinct neighborhoods offering both private and semi-private accommodations. Each neighborhood provides services and care designed to meet to the individual health and wellness needs of the residents, including our short-term rehabilitation neighborhood.

History and Mission

Neighborhoods of White Lake Chapel Stained Glass

Originally known as Alexander, The Neighborhoods of White Lake was originally acquired as part of a group purchase from Beverly Enterprises. The 82-bed skilled nursing facility located in Royal Oak, MI began as a house in a residential area of the city. To better support seniors in the region, a decision was made to construct a new building in White Lake Township, which opened in June of 2012 under the name of The Neighborhoods of White Lake. The new community consisted of two floors, each with 46 private residences.  At the time the new community was opened, all the residents at Alexander were given the option to move to the new building, or to transfer to another facility. Many choose to make The Neighborhoods of White Lake their new home. In 2020, a decision was made to open an Assisted Living neighborhood, and during this time, 53 Skilled Nursing residences were converted to the new license.
