The Alverno Appoints Leaders

Recently, Jonathan Frazier, Trinity Health Senior Communities’ regional vice president for operations in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa, announced the appointment of Theresa Nielsen as administrator and Alexanderia “Alley” May as director of nursing at The Alverno in Clinton.

For Theresa Nielsen, this marks a return to the leadership role she held from 2018 to 2022. She has also served as The Alverno’s director of nursing. “Theresa’s focus on clinical quality, resident-centered decision making, strategic growth and colleague engagement and development will serve the community well today and in the future. We are grateful for her more than 30 years of experience as a nurse, her years of devoted service to The Alverno and the strong example she sets for our Core Values of Reverence, Integrity, Commitment to Those Experiencing Poverty and Stewardship,” Frazier said.

Theresa graduated with presidential honors from the Chamberlain College of Nursing. Under her previous leadership, The Alverno received multiple quality awards from the American Healthcare Association as well as Trinity Health Senior Communities’ (THSC’s) Clinical Excellence Awards in 2011 and 2012.

Alley May has been promoted to director of nursing. She has worked at The Alverno since 2021:  first, as a registered nurse manager, and prior to her promotion, as assistant director of nursing. In his announcement, Frazier praised “Alley’s progressive leadership experience and proficiency with operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement and staff development.” A registered nurse, Alley holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University.
